Dean and Dan Caten of Dsquared² have been showcasing their last couple of collections through cinematography. They started off last season with a short film for their Resort 2013 collection that featured Cara Delevigne. The young model is shown talking and screaming into a payphone to an unknown person on the other end of the line. The Resort 2013 had a 90’s glam-grunge appeal with pops of yellow and pink and was heavily embellished with chains.
The twin’s Pre-Fall 2013 campaign video is a continuation of the Resort 2013 campaign video with Jasmine Tookes starring as the unknown person at the other end of the payphone. The Pre-Fall collection is vintage inspired and is made up of lengthy gowns, long coats, and tailored pants and skirts in colours of brown, pink, red, grey, and blues.
I’m curious to see what Dsquared² comes up with for the following seasons. I think campaign videos and short films are a fun and interesting way of showcasing and promoting collections. They’re eye-catching and tell great stories.
