Summer is officially over, and the start of September could mean it’s time for a new look! If the cooler temperatures and back to school season have got you wondering what’s next in fall hair trends, check out our autumn favourites:
This versatile cut is still the style of the year and going strong! The Lob hairstyle is a great way for those with long hair to try out a shorter length without a full chop. You’ll love the easy styling – the lob can be worn either waved or straight and works with all our favouirite looks below. If you go for texture, make sure to invest in a good hair wand and a soft touch hairspray like Axis Hair Salon’s Werks, which dries on contact so your waves are always soft to the touch.
Pastels are going deep for fall, with the richness of deep magenta, navy blue, and green taking over. Try toning your pastels to a deeper vivid and blending your roots down for lower maintenance colour. Blondes will be following suit for tones with more depth like dark silver or beige and again, shadow roots will be the key to minimizing upkeep. If you want something a bit more natural, rich, deep browns are always in for fall! Try a caramel balayage with chocolate brown roots for a color palette to match your fall wardrobe.
Braids are a great option for any length and take your everyday look to the next level. A simple crown braid disguises a dirty hair day, and a messy fish tail is the new ponytail. For beginners, an easy three strand braid can sass up any look this fall!
Half Top Knot
Half top knots are a great way to take boring day old hair to downtown chic in no time. Start by gathering the top section of hair from the corner of each eye. Then comb it back and tie off in a ponytail just at the top of your head. Backcomb the ponytail gently then wrap loosely around the base and secure with a couple of bobby pins. Spray the hair below with a beach or texture spray and you’re good to go!
Space buns are a fun, playful look. All up or half up this style is a great way to embrace the nineties revival we are seeing in fashion this fall. Keep your look messy and low key by not centering your space buns. If you have short or thin hair, backcombing before pinning into buns will make the style look fuller. If you need an extra boost, a few clip in extensions can help too.
