It’s music festival season! I love music and look forward to learning the lineups every year. However, it is not just about the music for me, it is also about the fashion.
Music festivals have become a visual buffet for street style bloggers, and with high celebrity attendance festivals have also started to predict trends for the upcoming fashion year.
The mother of all music festival fashion can be found at Coachella Music Festival, held the first 2 weekends of April in Palm Springs, California. Last year a ton of huge 2012 trends were popularized at Coachella: flower crowns, Aztec-inspired prints, studded denim, and fringed details.
This year the trends I’m predicting are Native American inspired apparel, as the festival takes place in the United States and, thanks to Lana Del Rey’s video “Ride,” there has been a recent surge in interest in Native American culture. This means feather details, fringed moccasin-style boots, and Western cowboy influences.
Sheer lingerie-inspired clothes for dancing under the hot, Californian sun as well as minimalistic makeup and hair will be popular thanks to the strong 90s influence shown at the recent fashion weeks.
With Coachella just a few days away I look forward to seeing what trends the music festival of the young and beautiful will inspire this year.
