After building our theme for the fashion show, our next step was to put it all together and actually make it work!
For the staging we chose to have the models walking around a raised u-shape runway set up to look like an eccentric dinner garden party. This is complete with giant flower walls that our class of nine people are handcrafting ourselves!
The dinner table set up in the middle of the runway will be filled with a mix of found items and classic dinnerware. You may see everything from simple wine glasses to antlers, gold painted apples and giant candelabras.
Class 142 has implemented a balance of elegance and organic outdoorsy features all into one set; think fancy Victorian dinner mixed with the mad hatter. Make sure to come see these incredible visuals for yourself.
The One Forty Two Fashion Show in support of the Looking Glass Foundation happens Thursday November 21 at Villa Amato (88 East 1st St), doors at 6:30, awards at 7:00, and show at 7:30. Tickets are available at JCI (220 Cambie), $25 in advance, $15 for JCI students, or $30 at the door.
