Having an internship can be difficult when you go to school and work at the same time. But there are times when we feel the benefits of our hard work. I received one of those benefits while interning in the visual department at The Bay.
At the start of each season The Bay has fashion brand reps come in for product knowledge meetings. These meetings highlight the new trends and what will be available in the store in the coming months.
The returning trends are the maxi dress and the high, low hem. There isn’t much change in the maxi other than the prints but the high, low hem is now subtler. Last year we saw the extreme, a very short front and a long back. This year there is no more than a 5-inch difference from the front to the back. This is because it can be seen on dresses and skirts but on tops as well.
While each brand has there own individual take on the trends for spring, it is safe to say that there will be more loose fitting garments. The fabrics will be soft to the touch and have excellent drape. These along with beautiful prints and eye catching colors are sure to make this spring beautifully interesting.
