Staying Warm and Looking Stylish this Winter

21
12.2016

Puffy coats, winter boots and hats can really put a damper on your winter style, but this time of year it’s so tempting to just bundle up and go. It can be a lot less fun to get dressed up when you have to think about how you’re gonna stay warm, so that’s why we’ve put together some of our favoruite tricks for fashion-forward layering. Take advantage of these ideas to key your outfit from looking bulky and boring, even in fridgid temperatures.

Turtlenecks under dresses

This look has been extremely popular over fall/winter 2016, and is here to stay until spring. Rather than covering up your party dress with a sweater, layer that tutrleneck underneith for a trendier look this season.

Blanket Scarves

Always a winter favourite, the blanket scarf serves double duty if you wrap it around your shoulders as a shawl. Great for staying cozy while travelling or even bundling up over a jacket, this trick will keep you toasty warm.

Faux Fur Vests

Great over almost anything and as another layer with lighter jackets, this fuzzy piece will spice up your winter wardrobe. Check out our whole post on styling vests.

Over the Ankle Boots

Cropped or flared denim has been all the rage this year, but it can leave your ankles feeling a little exposed out in the cold. Cue the 70’s boot trend to save the day! Go with something cut a little above the ankle and leave the bare skin for better weather.
