Class 139 has harvested an incredible amount of inspiration from the idea of when one is caught within a dream-like state. Striving to bring something new and exciting this spring, the Reverie fashion show will bring the allure of the baroque period to the runway.
Garments worn by JCI’s beautiful dreamers (models) will represent a perfect balance between avante-garde and comfort.
The multitude of vintage, renewed and handcrafted garments that are being put together by some very talented students in class 139 are truly breathtaking. From the lace camisole to the sheer cape adorned with small blooms to a fresh-take on an edgy street style; these pieces will evoke a sense of romance and grandeur.
Australian label Forever New (pictured here), celebrates the feminine beauty of women so unique and elegant pieces will be presented. Zara and Top Shop, both high-street brands and much loved by fashionista’s around the world, will bring the elements of chic and fun to the show.
In addition, whimsical and flowy pieces that are trendy and easy to incorporate into one’s wardrobe will be pulled from Holly Boutique. Expect to see brands like Pink Stitch, Rebecca Taylor, Joie and Ronny Kobo in light tones and airy fabrics.
All in all, audience will be sure to find a strong mixture of brands and styles that will put you in a walking dream.
Reverie the fashion show happens on March 19th at Performance Works (Granville Island), doors open at 6pm with space for socializing and drinks, then the fashion show starts at 7:30pm. Tickets for JCI’s Reverie Fashion Show in support of Looking Glass Foundation are $20 in advance, $25 at the door or $15 for current JCI students. Tickets are available at JCI (220 Cambie).
