RET•RO•GRADE is a futuristic fashion show featuring designs and styling by up-and-coming faces of the fashion industry from JCI group 141. The show will demonstrate the evolution from modernization into its deconstruction through the use of visual display, clothing, plus hair and makeup.
The futuristic element is exposed through cobalt blue lip colour finished with a shiny gloss. This feature adds interest to the overall look and grabs attention due to its eccentricity.
The deterioration is showcased by hair that is partly covered with white plaster on each side of the head. The rest of the hair is slicked back and straight down. This aspect enhances the conclusion of the show since it shows the decline from futuristic to deconstruction.
RET•RO•GRADE will be held at Performance Works on Granville Island on Tuesday July 16. Doors open at 6pm and the show begins at 7:30. Tickets are available at JCI (220 Cambie) for $20 or $25 at the door. All net proceeds will go to the Looking Glass Foundation.
