With our fashion show just three weeks away it’s time to let you in on what’s been going on behind the retailers doors and sewing machines! Nataraja being the statue of Lord Shiva as he performs his two
dances, one of destruction and the other of creation, was something that we definitely wanted to communicate not only with staging and musically but also visually through the fashion.
The show will be split into three major segments. The destruction section will consist of a heavier look with ample statement jewelry and heavy layering (pictured here www.authentiquejewelry.com). Opposing this are flowing, light fabrics with little to no jewelry illustrating pureness and the segment of creation. Colours you can expect are burgundy, navy and black to add to the heavy fabrics and a lighter colour palette for the transition from darkness to the light of a brand new world that the Lord Shiva has created.
The Lasya Tandava Fashion Show happens Thursday June 13 at Performance Works (Granville Island), doors open at 6pm with space for socializing and drinks, then the fashion show starts at 7:30pm.
