As you may have seen over the weekend, JCI had 3 grads/students competing at IMATS LA Battle of the Brushes! Each talented woman was accepted into the Beauty/Fantasy category, and completed their masterpieces on Sunday. The theme was International Beauty, and each Makeup Artist came up with a breathtaking interpretation around that subject.

Tiera IMATStiera IMATS LA 2017

Tiera Murray created this beautiful look. The metallic silver, gemstones and bright red to contrast really stood out on stage. A 2 time IMATS competitor, Tiera did an amazing job in LA – we’re so proud of her work at the event and always excited to see what she comes up with next!

JESSICA IMATSJessica Lust IMATS LA finished Jessica Lust has competed 3 times at IMATS and placed each and every time! We couldn’t be more thrilled to announce that she once again came in 3rd in LA – this stunning makeup creation certainly deserved it. Go Jessica! We look forward to seeing more of her work in the future. Kathleeen IMATS LA kathleen IMATS

It might be hard to believe seeing her work at IMATS. but Kathleen Fowlstone is just finishing up our Makeup Artistry program. She has a background in bodypainting, which you can definitely tell when you look at all the detail  in her work. This is just the beginning for Kat and we couldn’t be happier for her to have had this experience already.

Want more IMATS? You can still watch the show and find more interviews/photos on the IMATS Facebook Page.

During the 10-month full time program, students study everything from glamour and special occasion makeup to special effects makeup and prosthetics application techniques. With classes limited to 16 students, individualized attention and encouragement foster each student’s personal and professional growth potential.

John Casablancas is the pioneer of prosthetic lab techniques and face casting in Western Canada. This advanced level of training affords our graduates amazing opportunities and a significant advantage for a career in film, TV or theatre.
