It’s a new year and fashion class 139 is going to start it off with a bang. We will be graduating this April but before we do we are going to leave our lasting impression at JCI with our Reverie Fashion Show.
Reverie means a state of being pleasantly lost in one’s thoughts; a daydream. So our fundraising fashion show for The Looking Glass Foundation will be a magical night when every spectator will be witness to a walking daydream.
With a light and airy name the class is focusing on the idea of contrasting inspirations. Clothing will cast a richer feel, with the baroque period as a heavy inspiration. It will not be typical of the soft, pastoral palette for spring. Instead a deep colour palette consisting of gold, silver, cream, and ox blood will be accented seamlessly with lace and muted florals.
We don’t want to give away too much, so in the words of the late, great Roald Dahl -“And above all watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it…”
Slip into a reverie on March 19th at Performance Works on Granville Island, doors at 6:30, show at 7:30. $20 tickets are available at JCI (220 Cambie).
