Happy New Year! Now it’s on to January…bring on the ever-changing weather and the dullness that comes with it.
A great way to change things up this new year is with, of course, new hair! If you haven’t seen the dozens of photos splashed across social media and every magazine about the LOB, then wake up! The LOB (a long bob), with its blunt or razored ends, is taking Hollywood and the celebrity world by storm.
Here’s the magic: this hair cut works for ALL hair types! It can compliment fine hair with no layers and subtle shattering on the blunt ends. It can work well for thick hair when finished with a razor on the ends to debulk and add soft layers to release weight. This cut is great for textured or wavy hair. Subtle layering through the ends can give you the best-when-air-dried look we all crave!
Not all LOBs are created equal: thou shalt not be lazy! This look always requires some amount of styling and product (make sure it is right for your hair type). This may include blow drying and it maybe even finishing with a wand for movement. Luckily for us, there are products like dry shampoo (a god-send!) that have changed our lives.
If I haven’t convinced you to make the chop yet, I’ll try one more thing:
You can still put your hair up! That’s right, a ponytail or even a top knot is still possible with most LOBs. It might require a few bobby pins, but it’ll do for those who hit the snooze button too many times in the morning! For the few nights out when you really want to glam it up, invest in some clip in extensions. These are easy to come by and require a lot less maintenance than those long tresses you may currently have!
New year, new hair, new YOU! Be sure not to miss out on this fab hair trend!
