It is finally time to make the chop. Summer is always a great time for a change as we are outside more, feeling more active, and just all around happier! A new haircut will not only help make you feel great, you’ll be sporting a hot trend, too! Lobs are best worn with some texture like beach waves, using a large wand or curling iron. Finished with a salt or surf spray, this is the summer’s hottest look.
Already made the chop? Try going shorter! This Summer, the Bob is chin length with very minimal layers and no fringe. Centre or side part, finish with some waves, leaving the ends blunt. A medium sized wand is great for this. A bit of wax or pomade to break up the ends , and you’re good to go!
A nineties throw-back style, but a little more refined for today. Day old, dirty hair works best for this style. Start with a fairly clean centre part, all the way through to your nape. Gather up one side at a time into high ponytails (pigtails) then back comb the ends. Wrap back combed hair around the ponytail base and secure with bobby pins. Messy is good for this look.
Anyway you wear them, braids are a great way to get your hair (whatever the length) off and away from your face. Crown braids, boxbraids, a long messy fishtail, get on Pinterest and be inspired daily with tons of great braided ‘dos.
Hats, Hats, Hats
Summer’s best accessory! If you haven’t picked up a cool hat yet, now is the time! Forever 21 is a great place to find deals on big, floppy hats or this year’s wide, stiff-brimmed look. Aldo and Zara also great shops for hats of all styles.
Look hot and stay cool this Summer, Vancity!
