The last month of the summer season has arrived and we are bittersweet. However, there are 30 days left to enjoy the sunshine and Labour Day long weekend, before panicking about Fall and going back to school.

Here’s your complete list of things to check off your bucket list before summer comes to an end: 

PRIDE Parade 

The 40th annual Pride Parade is more than a parade, it’s a protest and a large [free] party celebrating LGBTQAI2S+ communities, celebrated throughout Vancouver. This year’s Pride event takes place on August 5th from 12 PM to 3 PM.

BC Hikes

According to Narcity Canada, you can’t call yourself a British Columbian until you’ve hiked these spots. From short hikes (2-3 hour roundtrips) to longer hikes, (7-9 hours roundtrips), there are many hikes to do in BC with breathtaking views.

Free Outdoor Movies

Pack a blanket, pillows and snacks and enjoy free outdoor movies every Tuesday at Ceperley Meadows near Second Beach, Stanley Park until August 21, 2018. The admission is free!

Honda Celebration of Light: 2018 Fireworks Show

This year’s theme for the 28th fireworks show is “Love” with the following countries participating: South Africa, Sweden and South Korea.

The next shows are held on Wednesday, August 1: Sweden, represented by Unique Pyrotechnic and Saturday, August 4: South Korea, represented by Daehan Fireworks Co.

Richmond World Festival 2018 

The Richmond World Festival is a free event with Canadian and International music artists performing, arts, foods and more. This festival takes place from Friday, August 31 to Saturday, September 1, 2018, on Friday’s and Saturday’s.

Opening August 18th, visit The Fair at the PNE and explore exhibits, enjoy live concerts, rides, games and more.

Sports Nights in Vancouver

Whether it’s a ball game or a soccer match, cheer on the Vancouver Canadians, Vancouver Whitecaps and BC Lions this month.

Vancouver’s Largest Water Fight

Yes, you read that right. Flash Mob Vancouver is hosting it’s largest water fight at Stanley Park on August 11th at 1 PM. This event is free and open for any ages to joins.

Le Dîner en Blanc

Ladies and gentlemen, get your all-white outfits ready because Le Dîner en Blanc is back for it’s 7th annual dinner party on August 23rd. This elegant midsummer event brings anyone and everyone from Vancouver together and is a great event for networking.
