If you look into your closet, you’ll notice that majority of your clothes consist of either a round or v-neckline. The square neckline is a new Fall trend that has been seen everywhere this season and is definitely a must-have for your wardrobe. Who knew a small detail could instantly make you the most fashionable person in the room. From dresses to tops, as long as it’s squared, you are immediately considered chic.
A similar silhouette to an off-the-shoulder top, the square neckline dates back to the 1960s. After years of disappearance (which typically happens in fashion), this trend is now back and revamped.
Designer labels such as Dolce & Gabbana, Christian Dior, and Anna Sui have all designed clothing with square necklines that have been seen on the FW18 runway. This trend is also available at local stores near you, including Aritzia, Zara and H&M.
Instagram fashion bloggers are to thank for making this trend come to life so quickly! JCI Fashion Business & Creative Arts graduate and blogger Emma Leger has styled her square-neck crop top from ElisexElissa with a dress from Verge Girl. We are definitely digging those puff sleeves!
