Admissions Requirements

To apply to JCI Institute as an international student, you must meet the following:

  • Students applying for admission to JCI Institute must meet the following admission requirements. No exemptions or waivers are permitted.

    • Applicants must have successfully completed Grade 12, or be a mature student (19 years of age or older) at the start of the program

    • Applicants must meet one of the language proficiency requirements listed below

  • All applicants must demonstrate an appropriate level of English language proficiency. One of the following must be met:

    • Completion of secondary or post-secondary education where English is the language of instruction

    • OR verified results from one of the following:

      • IELTS Academic: overall score of 5.5 or higher

      • CAEL: overall score of 40 or higher

      • Duolingo English Test: overall score of 95 or higher

  • International applicants must:

    • Provide a valid study permit (or co-op work permit) through Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC)

    • Maintain British Columbia Medical Services Plan (MSP) coverage

    Please note: programs at JCI Institute are not eligible for the Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) in Canada.
