What programs does JCI Institute offer?

JCI Institute offers four industry-recognized programs in Vancouver:

All programs are delivered in-person with hands-on training designed to prepare students for real-world careers in fashion, make up, hair, and esthetics.

Is JCI Institute accredited?

Yes. JCI Institute is:

  • A member of British Columbia’s Education Quality Assurance (EQA) program, which designates high-quality post-secondary institutions across the province.

  • Designated by the Private Training Institutions Regulatory Unit (PTIRU) of the BC Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills. All JCI certificate and diploma programs are approved by the Registrar.

How long has JCI been operating?

JCI Institute has been a leader in creative education for over 45 years, helping thousands of students launch successful careers in makeup, fashion, hair, and esthetics industries.

Where is JCI Institute located?

JCI is currently located in Gastown, Vancouver, a creative hub known for its historic charm and artistic energy. In January 2026, we’re moving to a brand-new, custom-built campus on Robson Street, designed to elevate hands-on learning with modern facilities tailored to each program.

Are programs in-person or online?

All JCI programs are taught in person at our Vancouver campus. We believe that real learning happens through hands-on, collaborative training in studio environments that mirror the industries we serve.

Does JCI offer scholarships or tuition awards?

Yes. JCI Institute offers a Tuition Award Program of up to $1,000 toward your tuition. You may be eligible if you:

  • Are relocating to attend JCI

  • Are continuing your post-secondary education

  • Work in the industry and want to upgrade your skills

  • Have experience in customer service, retail, or volunteering related to your program

  • Are a high school student or graduate with a 70% GPA or higher

Can I get student loans or financial aid?

Canadian students may qualify for government student loans and grants through the Canada Student Financial Assistance Program. Our Financial Aid Officer can help you determine your eligibility and guide you through the application process.

Do I need experience to apply?

No prior experience is required. Our programs are beginner-friendly while still offering advanced opportunities for students who want to deepen their expertise.

What careers can I pursue after graduating from JCI?

Our graduates go on to careers such as:

  • Makeup artists for film, fashion, and editorial

  • Hairstylists, salon professionals, and colourists

  • Fashion designers, brand builders, and stylists

  • Estheticians, spa therapists, and medi-spa professionals

Many students also start their own businesses or work freelance in the beauty, fashion, and wellness industries.

Does JCI offer job support or real-world experience?

Yes. JCI programs include career development, portfolio building, and industry exposure. Students often participate in real events, collaborations, and practicum placements that prepare them for success beyond graduation.
