The Home Stretch: Bringing Our Robson Campus to Life
If you’ve been following along on Instagram, you’ve seen the quick peeks—the walk-throughs, the dusty boots, the construction noise soundtrack. But behind that fast-moving footage is a much bigger story: how, over the past months, a bare concrete shell at Robson Street has slowly transformed into our new home. And now, with our moving date set for December 20 and 21, we’re officially entering the home stretch.
Walking into the space today feels entirely different from even a few weeks ago. Where there used to be open framing and tangled wires, there are now real, finished rooms that smell faintly of sawdust and fresh paint. The floors are down. Doors click into place. Lighting glows warm and inviting. You can feel the momentum—like the building itself knows we’re getting close.
Furniture has begun arriving in staggered waves—boxes piled high with desks, chairs, and tables. Custom cabinetry is sliding into place piece by piece, making entire hallways feel suddenly more “campus-like.” One day it’s empty; the next day you turn the corner and there’s a fully set-up esthetics room or a salon station that looks one chair short of welcoming its first client.
Of course, in true construction fashion, it hasn’t all been smooth. There have been mishaps, shipping delays, last-minute fixes—the expected chaos that comes with building something at this scale. The funniest one? The mirrors. A large shipment of mirrors we ordered never showed up because (and we promise we couldn't invent this) the ship they were on was turned away at port for contraband. Yes. Contraband. This is the kind of plot twist we now accept as normal. We laughed, took a deep breath, and found new mirrors.
But these hiccups feel small compared to what’s happening overall—the sense of growth, of energy, of possibility literally taking shape in drywall and tile and cabinetry.
Spaces We Can’t Wait for You to See
Head to the second floor and you’ll find:
Two full salon spaces, flooded with light, ready for styling, cutting, colouring, and hands-on mastery.
Two esthetics rooms, each built to support hands-on learning, calming treatments, and client-ready professionalism.
A fully equipped medi-clinic room, ushering in the next era of applied esthetics and advanced practice.
There are student kitchens designed for breaks, snacks, and community moments (because some of the best conversations happen over microwaved lunches and shared mugs of tea).
And then there’s the third-floor, where fashion and makeup live. Each department has open studios, with plenty of room to experiment and bring ideas to life. The Student Hub, which is already shaping up to be everyone’s favourite place, is a bright, versatile gathering area where students will study, collaborate, decompress, and exist together between classes. It’s exactly the kind of space that makes a building feel like a campus, not just a collection of rooms.
But perhaps the most exciting space is something completely new: The Frame. Named by one of our Makeup graduates, The Frame will be the beating heart of our events and community life—a place designed for pop-ups, workshops, talks, alumni nights, brand collaborations, portfolio showcases, and everything in between. It’s a blank slate with limitless potential, ready to house creativity in every form.
What’s Next
Between now and opening day, we’ll continue visiting the campus several times a week, working with signage teams, finalizing the last details, and watching it all come together. Every visit brings a new surprise—a hallway finished, a room staged, a cabinet installed. It’s thrilling.
In the new year, we’ll be hosting a housewarming event (yes, you’re invited), and we can’t wait to welcome you—especially our alumni—to see the new space, reconnect, and celebrate how far we’ve come.
Robson Campus is almost ready. And soon, it will be yours. See the latest update on our IG here.
